Green space at the heart of new Salford development

by | 30 Jul 24 | Commercial Landscaping, Landscape Architecture, News | 0 comments

Latest proposals for the £1bn Salford development reveal a new park, designed by LDA Design, at its centre, rivalling Mayfield Park in size.

Salford’s Regent Retail Park is set to be transformed into a new, sustainable place to live. With over 3000 new homes and the tallest tower outside of London.

The central green space will sit within a wider two-hectare linear park, offering connections to Orsdall and Manchester via the Orsdall Footbridge.

It will be Salford’s first new park in a generation, and is projected to rival the size of Mayfield Park in Manchester, which recently won a Green Flag Award.

Director at LDA Design and Manchester studio lead, Mark Graham comments on the need for new, accessible green space in the city.

“This development demonstrates the importance of connecting new homes to playful, quality green space and investing in local infrastructure so that new and existing communities can benefit together.”

Plans for the project have been submitted for planning approval by Henley Investment Management with Savills and Matt Brook Architects.
