Wyevale Nurseries receives Plant Healthy Certification for its high biosecurity standards for the fourth consecutive year.
The certification was presented to production manager, Kyle Ross, following a comprehensive independent audit.
“I’d like to thank all the team members who were involved. Their cooperation, time and knowledge has been essential throughout this process. It was a tremendous team effort. Plant Healthy Certification is an incredible asset for us when it comes to securing work.”
Last year the nursery established an internal Plant Healthy Organisation Group, with representatives in its containers, field, container trees and transplants departments.
The team in the Group are responsible for implementing Wyevale Nurseries Plant Healthy standards and protocols within their departments.
Ross says this is “an indication of how seriously we take our responsibilities here.”
The Plant Healthy certification scheme is designed to make it easier to identify businesses or organisations that trade and grow plants with the highest standards of health and biosecurity.
Malcom Catlin, project director of Plant Healthy Limited, says the Standard not only “benefits individual businesses” but it also helps to protect the “health of our plants from plant pests and diseases, and doing so will help safeguard the biodiversity of the British landscape and support the UK economy.”
