Urban housing architect practice, Gouldstone & Co has been granted planning permission on an ‘awkward’ backland site in Greenwich, south London.
Six houses are planned for the 585m² triangular estate, with four three-beds, one four-bed and one two-bed.
All but one of the houses will be constructed at the site’s rear, encompassing a landscape courtyard. The remaining townhouse will be situated to the front of the site near existing terraces.
The site’s ‘award’ nature refers to its limited shape and size, on top of its conservation area status, nearby listed buildings and its protected trees.
Gouldstone & Co, established in 2021, specialises in urban housing locations, maximising the potential of ‘awkward’, infill and backland sites throughout the London area and south-east.
Development for the Greenwich site is scheduled to begin early next year, with an expected completion date of 2026.
