Major multi-million development of Longfield Centre in Prestwich has been given the green-light to go-ahead.

The Longfield Centre site is set to receive a £100m overhaul in a joint venture between Muse and Bury Council.

Plans, which have been shaped by the input of the local community, include a provision of live event areas, a market hall, and landscaped green spaces.

On top of a community hub inclusive of a new library and around 200 new homes.

Muse’s Joe Stockton comments on the project:

“This is a huge moment for Prestwich. The overhaul of the Longfield Centre will create a new beating heart for the village, packed with community facilities, spaces for local businesses to thrive, and much-needed new homes.”

He says that with the local community and contributing partners, the approved plans outline a “new village centre that everyone can be proud of and that will cement Prestwich as one of the best places to live for decades to come.”
