Fisher Tomlin & Bowyer to design hospice garden for Greenfingers charity

by | 05 Jun 24 | Garden Design, News

A new kitchen garden for Chestnut Tree House is being designed by Fisher Tomlin & Bowyer thanks to charity Greenfingers.

The design duo has been appointed to rejuvenate an area of land adjacent to a newly developed park and sensory garden the West Sussex-based children’s hospice.

Greenfingers’ ambassador and former owner of Forest Lodge Garden Centre and Bird world, Roger Head, has made a generous donation towards the project. His family has a history of vegetable growing, which a new sustainable kitchen garden will provide at the hospice.

The garden will be designed to be fully accessible to provide children and young people with life limiting conditions and their families “the opportunity to engage in the process of growing fruits and vegetables,” says Sarah Clifton, head of major gifts at the hospice.

“We firmly believe that the nurturing environment of the garden, coupled with the cathartic act of gardening itself, can help improve our beneficiaries’ mental health.”
