Nurture Landscapes breaks new ground with latest acquisition, Rokill Pest Control Services

Nurture Group

Completed in November, the Nurture Group acquired Rokill Pest Control Services, which will see Nurture Landscapes enter a new market to support the continuation of the company’s growth post COVID-19.

Founded 41 years ago by chairman Alec McQuin, Rokill Pest Control Services is one of the largest independently owned pest control companies in the UK. Working across the Midlands and the South of England, Rokill provide commercial and domestic pest and bird control services.

Respected throughout the industry for providing a quality service to the highest standards, Rokill have been holders of the Royal Warrant for the provision of Pest Control Services to Her Majesty the Queen since 2000.

In addition, they also work with key clients such as Pets at Home, Clarks, New Look, Screwfix, as well as household names in the food and beverage sectors, including Ginsters, Charlie Bighams and St Austell Brewery.

The acquisition has been driven by the Nurture Group’s ambition to meet constant and growing demand from clients. Similar to the expansion of their winter gritting business, the requirement for pest control services, in addition to its grounds’ maintenance offering, was a natural progression for the Nurture Group to meet their markets need.

Rokill will continue to trade under the Rokill brand from Ringwood, as a wholly owned trading subsidiary of Nurture Holdings.

Nurture CEO, Peter Fane, commented: “Rokill is a business that fits neatly into our organisation and it’s great to be able to bring it on board. Both companies have a strong ethos in health and safety, as well as an impressive commitment to preserving the environment. They recruit top talent, and above all, bring a quality service to our respective client bases, which are also very closely aligned.

“Recently, we have witnessed an upward trend in clients enquiring about pest control, and with Rokill becoming a part of the Nurture Group, we are well-placed to meet this growing demand.”

Rokill’s chairman, Alec McQuin, added: “We’re delighted to be welcomed into the Nurture Group and are excited about this new venture together. Nurture’s story of growth and ambition is one that reflects our own.

“Rokill has enjoyed a hugely successful 41 years, Chris Turner our Managing Director and I have worked together for much of that time and are looking forward to the next stage of Rokill’s growth, working alongside Nurture, bringing a quality and professional service to our clients.”

The Rokill acquisition comes off the back of three other recent deals completed by Nurture Group in the last two months; JBB Groundcare in Scotland, GLM Services in the North East, and Minster Landscapes in the Midlands, all of whom will transition to the Nurture brand from 1 December 2021. These will broaden the company’s service provision across the UK, most notably in areas across Scotland, thanks to the JBB deal, where the company has seen considerable growth over the last few years.
