Wholesale renovation plans set for a 1980s office block in Birmingham’s business district include a new roof top terrace and external feature redesigns.
The six-storey building has approximately 68,000 sq ft of internal floor space and is in ‘immediate need’ of rejuvenation, according to a report submitted in support of the planning application.
The building’s current amenities do “not provide any tenant amenity space.” The new plans, designed by Birmingham-based practice Associated Architects, look to “repurpose” parts of the existing building, and will see the installation of a new rooftop terrace and sky lounge.
Six electric vehicle charging points, a 44-space cycle hub and changing facilities are also included in the plans, reducing the number of car parking bays from 30 to 19.
