Husqvarna has announced two additions to its battery powered product range for professionals – a multi-rack charger and new pole hedge trimmers.
The multi-rack charger (C1000X4) allows users to charge four Husqvarna Bli-X 36V batteries simultaneously, directing power to the batteries that need it the most. The “robust” design has an IPX4 rating for all-weather functionality.
Its new battery pole hedge trimmers – 525iHF3 and 525iHE4 – are also IPX4 rated, with three speeds available and triple grinded blades for efficient cutting. There is the option of either an internal or external (belt or backpack) battery and the battery status is always visible. The pole hedge trimmers include integrated Bluetooth connectivity, allowing them to be monitored via the Husqvarna Fleet Service.

Husqvarna also launched new battery pole hedge trimmers
The outdoor power product manufacturer unveiled the new launches at its Living City event in Paris this month. Gent Simmons, vice president of professional product management & development, told guests that Husqvarna is “innovating towards fossil independence”.
Whilst battery power is a key part of its current strategy, there might be alternative power sources for different sectors in the future, said Simmons. He used forestry as an example, where it’s a challenge to develop a battery-powered chainsaw powerful enough and with enough run time for those working within remote locations.
Energy density for lithium batteries has been improving over the years and will continue to increase “quite a lot” over the coming years, added Sren Kahl, director of battery technology and platform development at Husqvarna Group. He said that he doesn’t see battery technology emerging to meet certain needs of professionals without compromises and said battery recycling is “necessary for sustainable battery production”.
