Off the back of its Future of Commercial Landscaping Conference, Pro Landscaper launches new Biodiversity Net Gain Workshops Day, taking place later this year.
While the nature-fronted legislation, which came into effect earlier this year, provides a unique opportunity to protect and boost the country’s natural environment. It is also an opportunity for the UK-based landscaping industry to offer influence, demonstrate value, and shape projects at earlier stages of development.
In order to achieve this, it is evident that more is needed to facilitate new levels of collaboration and connection, as well as bridging the knowledge gap.
Pro Landscaper launches this new Biodiversity Net Gain Workshops Day after the legislation proved to be a central talking point at its Commercial Landscaping Conference earlier this month, David Griffiths, divisional director at Eljays44 – parent company of Pro Landscaper, comments:
“Whilst there was consensus that biodiversity net gain presents a huge opportunity, there are major knowledge and connection gaps that need to be closed. There was a real appetite for closer collaboration, even across competitors!”
The day will begin at 9:30am and run through to 4pm, with a selection of 90 minute workshops throughout the day, as well as keynote talks on the legislation, takeaways and action plans and complimentary refreshments.
Pro Landscaper will be producing a biodiversity net gain implementation guide off the back of the workshop’s day, drawing key takeaways in each workshop. Attendees will have priority access to the guide before it is released to the wider industry.
The event will be taking place 11 September 2024, in London. More information is set to be revealed in the coming weeks.
