There are plenty of company anniversaries being celebrated this year, from Oak View Landscapes’ 20-year milestone or Cube1994 hitting the 30-year mark. Both of these businesses are now looking ahead to the next chapter and putting a succession plan in place.
Helmrig did exactly this four years ago, when Dave Gallagher took over from his father-in-law. In our June issue, we speak to all three of these companies, but we also look at other ways that businesses are moving forward – from striving for B Corp certification to adding a new service.
In this issue:
- Let’s Hear It From…Dave Gallagher: Helmrig’s managing director has taken the company from strength to strength in the last four years.
- A Family Future: As Oak View Landscapes celebrates its 20th anniversary, managing director Paul Downer is putting his succession plan into place to continue to build on its success.
- To Be or Not to B Corp: The certification is gaining traction in the industry, but is it worth the hype and how can companies achieve B Corp status?
Don’t miss:
- Ask the Experts: Holly Youde shares what needs to be considered when looking to add a design service to your business.
- Light After Dark: This month’s cover star by Peter Cowell Garden Design matches the picturesque views of the surrounding countryside.
- Five Minutes With…Adam Geldart: Fresh from winning a Pro Landscaper Business Award, Gel Landscaping Groundworks’ owner offers advice for new companies.

Following on from Plant Health Week last month, we’re continuing the conversation in our dedicated Biosecurity Special. Defra’s chief plant health officer Professor Nicola Spence explains how Britain’s approach to biosecurity has been overhauled in the last decade. We also explore how Brexit has impacted the way plants are imported and how the RHS tackles biosecurity across its sites. There are pest and disease focuses on Xylella fastidiosa and oak processionary moth too – and plenty more to read.
