Hillier is expanding its sponsorship of BBC Gardener’s World Live in 2023 after some “amazing responses” to its first show as a partner last year.

The company will sponsor the Let’s Talk Plants Stage for the second year running while also supporting two show gardens by Paul Stone and Lucy Hutchings.

Chris Francis, Hillier Garden Centre and Wholesale Nurseries director, said: “Last year’s show was our first time as a sponsor and we loved it – it was a fantastic show for us and we had some amazing responses from visitors. So much so that we wanted to return with an even bigger and better offering.”

As you might expect, the Let’s Talk Plants Stage, hosted by David Hurrion, will see plant specialists deliver various sessions and talks, with guest appearances from the likes of Sue Kent, Carol Klein and Alan Titchmarsh.
Hillier’s Charles Carr, head of wholesale nurseries, will also take to the stage to showcase the companies new plant introductions for 2023.

Paul Stone’s ‘A Garden Fit for a King’ is said to be inspired by Highgrove Arboretum, incorporating the King’s favourite trees and a wildflower carpet. “The idea behind the garden is to inspire visitors to incorporate sustainable initiatives into their own gardens, just as King Charles III has done at Highgrove. Hillier is supplying an array of plants and trees to be included in Paul’s regal garden, and will be supporting Paul throughout the event, manning the garden and providing expert advice to visitors.”

Meanwhile, Lucy Hutchings’ ‘The Secret Homestead’ garden “aims to break away from the traditional grow-your-own vision and explore the ideas of what an edible garden can be. Featuring a dramatic black, white, and coral colour scheme, Lucy plans to fill her show garden with dual-purpose edible plants and flowers, handmade sculptures, and mushroom gardens.”
