Georgia Gilbert is continually pushing herself to succeed. The 30 Under 30 winner was recently appointed as the wildflower technical manager at John Chambers Wildflower Seed, a brand supplied exclusively by Green-tech Ltd.

Now with more responsibility within her role and the opportunity to be actively involved in industry events, Gilbert oversees the technical side of the brand. Her day-to-day ranges from assisting with more bespoke projects which require maintenance guidance to creating new seed mixtures to keep up with new environmental requirements.

“I support our in-house sales team with any technical queries they or their customers have and also deliver CPDs and presentations to landscape architects and garden designers and maintenance training to contractors,” says Gilbert.

Since her promotion to become technical manager Gilbert has also participated in a significant amount of research, looking at the new biodiversity net gain requirements and how Green-tech and John Chambers can prepare with the knowledge to best advise customers on how their products can help to create or enhance habitats.

With a goal to complete a master’s degree by summer 2025, Gilbert takes each day as it comes, watching out for new opportunities and growing her confidence along the way.

After becoming one of Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30: The Next Generation award winners in 2022, Gilbert describes her win as being, “more than anything, a great confidence boost.

“Receiving the award with 29 other inspiring people was a great feeling. It’s pushed me to have the confidence to go on and do other things,” she says.

Something as simple as just writing down her own achievements has allowed Gilbert to appreciate how much she has achieved so far throughout her career and now, with biodiversity net gain in full force, Gilbert is anything but short of a challenge as she continues to progress and prove herself as a worthy award winner.
